At the same time, the negative opinions against him fell by 5 points, while remaining largely in the majority (59%).

For the first time since the summer of 2018, the two heads of the executive receive a favorable opinion from more than a third of respondents, reports this study. For Macron, this is his best level since May 2018 (37%), before the Benalla affair and the movement of "yellow vests".

Its popularity level is significantly below that reached by Nicolas Sarkozy at the same period of his quinquennium (46% in September 2009), but far ahead of François Hollande in September 2014 (13%).

The President of the Republic enjoys a sharp rise in the under 35 years (36%, +12 points), in executives where he even passed the 50% mark (58%, +12 points) as well as in the inhabitants of the Paris area (29%, +11 points). Its popularity is intact among LREM supporters (97%) and progresses significantly among PS activists (+6 points, 32%). He also recorded a rise of 3 points among relatives of LR (40%).

On the podium of the favorite political leaders of the French, we find, in order, Nicolas Hulot, Jack Lang and Alain Juppé (unchanged). Nicolas Sarkozy is still 4th, followed by Jean-Yves Le Drian and Xavier Bertrand. Marine Le Pen moves back one place, in the 7th, Marion Maréchal wins two in the 8th. In the top 10, also include François Hollande, who passes from 14th place in July to the 9th one month later, and Martine Aubry (10th place, she loses one).

This survey was conducted with a representative sample of 1,009 people, according to the quota method, via the Internet on September 13th and 14th.
