The CSM Deputy Chairman David Ermini received the letter from the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella tonight with which the resignation of the director Paolo Criscuoli as member of the Superior Council was transmitted. The Head of State identified in the letter of resignation presented by Criscuoli a sense of responsibility and respect for the institutions.

Criscuoli, a togate from MI, returned a few days ago, on 9 September, to work at Palazzo dei Marescialli, after a period of self-suspension. He was self-suspended from his post last June 4, after being brought up in the inquiry by the Prosecutor's Office of Perugia on the attempt to influence the appointments of the leaders of some of the most important judicial offices in Italy, in which, among others, the former CSM councilor, Luca Palamara, is under investigation for corruption. I resign today.
