This was reported by the Consulate General of Russia in New York on his Facebook page.

“Diplomats of the Consulate General of Russia in New York assisted in organizing the first meeting in many years of Russian Viktor Bout, who is serving a 25-year term in Marion prison (Illinois state), with his wife and daughter,” the statement said.

As indicated in the Russian diplomatic mission, the administration of the correctional institution allowed Bout’s relatives to visit him four times a week. Each meeting will last four hours.

“The Russian citizen did not make any complaints about the conditions of detention.
The Consulate General is monitoring the observance of the legitimate rights of Viktor Bout, ”added the Consulate General.

Earlier, the US Department of State allowed the family of the Russian prisoner Victor Bout, who is in an American prison, to make two additional visits a week.
