“With the measures taken, the illegal activities of the North Korean poachers identified in the region of the banks of Quito-Yamato (the Sea of Japan, the exclusive economic zone of the Russian Federation) were stopped,” the agency said in a statement to RT.
Earlier, the FSB said that two North Korean schooners who were engaged in poaching were discovered in the area of the Quito-Yamato bank.
The crew of one of them made an armed attack on Russian border guards, three soldiers were injured.
In connection with the incident, the Chargé d'Affaires of North Korea was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
