Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan congratulated wrestler Reza Kaya Alp after winning the World Wrestling Championship in Kazakhstan.

"With all my heart, I congratulate our wrestler Reza Kaya Alp who made us once again proud to win his fourth gold medal in the World Wrestling Championship," Erdogan said in a tweet on his official Twitter account on Tuesday.

Erdogan enclosed the tweet with a photo of him with Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Hamza Yerli Kaya as they followed the final of the Alpine game.

Earlier in the day, Turkey's Caya Alp was crowned the 130 kg world champion in the Kazakh capital Nur Sultan after beating Cuban rival Oscar Pino Hinds 3-1.

With his last victory, Gaya Alp is the first Turkish to win the World Wrestling Championship four times, winning the title in 2011, 2015 and 2017 as well.
