The Ministry of Health and Community Protection has launched the updated version of the Hypertension Guide, in accordance with the standards of the World Health Organization, to raise the efficiency of health workers and provide the best preventive and therapeutic services for patients with blood pressure; the public.

Dr. Hussein Al-Rand, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Centers and Clinics Sector, said during the induction and training workshop recently organized by the Ministry in Dubai, that high blood pressure «silent killer», one of the most important health challenges that attracted international attention in recent years, because of the reasons for the increased risk of infection Heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, premature death, and disability, affecting about 28-30% of adults worldwide.

He noted that the national health survey conducted by the ministry in cooperation with the concerned authorities concluded that the rate of high blood pressure in the country about 28.8%.

He stressed the importance of the ministry launching a guide that develops the skills of health care providers to provide better care for patients, which contributes to reduce the mortality rate due to heart disease.
