Ras Al Khaimah's second misdemeanor court yesterday tried the case of six Arab and Asian people accused of 18 theft of electrical and metal cables and wires from houses and villas under construction. One of the defendants admitted the details of the thefts.

The prosecution accused five Arab nationals of stealing cables and electrical wires from villas and residential houses under construction in various areas of Ras Al Khaimah, and selling them to scrap workshops in kilograms, and accused the sixth (Asian) to buy stolen cables from the defendants.

The defendants denied the accusations against them in the indictment, but the second defendant surprised his colleagues by confessing them before the court, stressing that he participated in one crime of theft, last July, with the defendants, which shocked the defendants.

The first defendant, in court, denied the confession received by the second defendant and stated that he took the cables in the belief that they were of unknown origin, pointing out that police patrols stopped his vehicle, confiscated the seized quantities, and searched his house found equipment and tools for cutting, and referred him to the Public Prosecution for carrying out 18 operations theft.

For his part, defense counsel for one of the accused, asked the court, to include all cases of thefts, committed by his client and the defendants, and the 18 cases, and transferred to the First Court of Misdemeanors, as cases related to each other, and concerns all the accused, pointing out that the consideration Cases in several jurisdictions The lawyer is distracted and delays in accessing case files. For its part, the court set 28 this month as the date for the sentencing of the defendants, in two of the 18 cases.
