The Traffic Week is an EU initiative and since 2016, the Swedish Transport Administration coordinates the week in Sweden and disseminates information to municipalities that want to participate.

"We want to pay attention to those who already choose to walk or cycle"

Several municipalities in Östergötland pay attention this week, for example in Finspång, those who are already cycling, walking or traveling collectively will be noticed with goodie bags.

- We want to draw attention to those who already choose to walk, cycle or go collectively to work and school to show what important and good effort they are doing for the municipality, themselves and the climate. We hope that it can also help to encourage more people to change the car to pedestrian or bicycle as it goes, says Joakim Joge, traffic engineer and Helena Wastesson, traffic strategist in a comment on the municipality's site.

In the municipality of Boxholm you are investing in reading. Books on the theme of transport and environment will be presented on a "book table" at the library in Boxholm.
