Iranian accusations that the US accusations about the attack on two facilities of Saudi Aramco, have eliminated any possibility of rapprochement between Tehran and Washington, stressing that Iran will rely on its military strength and its allies in the "axis of resistance" to deal with the threats.

Tensions flared after US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo accused Iran of attacking two oil refineries in Saudi Arabia, warning that the Trump administration would work with its allies to make sure Iran was "held to account" for its "aggression."

On the other hand, the Iranian Foreign Ministry considered that Washington's accusations are "flimsy and unfounded" and that they resemble an intelligence plan to discredit Iran as a ground for further actions against it.

The Yemeni Houthi group announced last Saturday that it launched a "major attack" with ten drones on two oil facilities of Saudi Aramco in eastern Saudi Arabia, which led to the suspension of more than half of the Kingdom's crude production.

Face no dialogue
According to Iranian political analyst Mehdi Shakibaei, America's return to the language of threat with Tehran would eliminate any possibility of rapprochement between the two countries.

In an interview with Al Jazeera Net, he stressed that the tone of the US threat with Tehran and accusations of involvement in attacking Saudi Arabia, may lead to confrontation rather than deal to resolve differences, adding that he sees no possibility of dealing with them only when America returns to the language of respect with the Iranian people, he said.

Will lead to confrontation (island)

Shakibaei stressed that the latest round of US escalation against Iran left no chance for dialogue or an Iranian-American meeting on the sidelines of the upcoming meetings of the UN General Assembly.

He explained that Iran will rely on its power cards in dealing with US threats, and dealt with any threat during the past four decades, stressing that the cards of Tehran's strength "is the prudence of its leadership and solidarity of its people, as well as its deterrent capacity and strategic position in the region."

Shakibaei accused the United States of working to topple the regime of the Islamic Republic in Iran since the victory of its revolution in 1979 until now, stressing that his country defied its enemies and emerged victorious over all their conspiracies.

Network of allies
Shakibaei pointed out that Iran has a network of allies in the Middle East, and that the movements of the "axis of resistance" constitute its trump card in managing the Western crisis against it, as well as its control over the Straits of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab.

He concluded by saying that "there is no security in the world except with the participation of Iran and this is what we have seen in the fight against ISIS (Islamic State) terrorism in recent years."

Moral support
For his part, the director of the Institute of International Relations Majeed Zouari, described the US accusations of Iran as a "trick", pointing out that Iranian support for the Houthi group does not exceed the moral and consultative dimensions.

He said in his interview with Al Jazeera Net, that the US administration desperately needs to register success in its foreign policy, and therefore is urgently seeking to deal with Iran, as it bowed to dialogue and negotiations without any conditions, but the recent US escalation does not hurt in this direction.

He explained that Iran's arms in the region have a long history in its developments, while US allies in the region are now surrounded by Iran's allies in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza and Yemen.

Leaf strength
Zawari said US President Donald Trump needed to meet with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani, but believes that such a meeting is still early, because America is making a step and another delay in dealing with Iran and that the recent escalation against Tehran has destroyed any glimmer of hope in this area.

He believed that Iran's military strength and its alliance with the resistance movements, which constitute Tehran's executive arms in the region, will prevent the implementation of US threats against it, stressing that Washington knows more than others that Iran is able to confuse it in the region through the axis of resistance.

Zawari said it was Trump who started the escalation against Iran by leaving the nuclear deal, describing the Iranian steps to reduce the implementation of its obligations in the agreement, as a soft pressure card along with Iran's coarse force through which Tehran was able to put an end to Western ambitions, he said.

Pompeo's accusations against Tehran are a replica of the US escalation following the targeting of four oil tankers off the UAE's Fujairah coastline. Pompeo and then-US national security adviser John Bolton blamed Iran.
