Algeria's interim head of state, Abdelkader Bensalah, has not missed the date set by the chief of staff, Lieutenant-General Ahmed Kayed Saleh, to call the presidential electorate.

On Sunday, the interim president formally signed the decree calling for a vote on December 12 and choosing a new president.

"The time has come for everyone to take the highest interest of the nation over all considerations, since it is our common denominator," said Abdelkader Bensalah in an address to Algerians on state television. "It is about the future of our country and the future of our children."

He explained that the elections "the culmination of a dialogue that led to a consensus on the elections and guarantees to ensure their credibility," and that "the state has remained neutral on the path of dialogue."

The interim president's speech came hours after the installation of the Higher Electoral Commission under the name of "Independent National Authority for the Organization of Elections" of fifty members, and the election of former Minister of Justice Mohammed Sharafi as its president.

Party Variation
The revelation of the composition of the "election commission" and the presidential election provoked a wide range of reactions between political parties and Algerian citizens.

The leader of the National Liberation Front (FLN), Mohamed Ammari, said the inauguration of the Palestinian National Authority for Elections and the amendment of the electoral law are "proof of the state's keenness to organize the forthcoming merit in the context of transparency and integrity.

Similarly, Ali Benflis' Vanguard of Freedoms Party said in a statement that the establishment of the National Authority for the Organization of Elections and the Adjustment of the Electoral System "may constitute a significant positive progress in national electoral practice."

"The institutional and legal conditions for a transparent, correct and uncontested presidential ballot have been generally met, but the condition remains to provide the appropriate political conditions and create a calm environment," the party said in its statement.

In contrast, the head of the "Justice and Development Front" Abdullah Gaballah said that "the haste in the installation of independent power without conditions deepens concern for the future of the movement, and calls for reservation on these measures, and increase the weight of the responsibility of the people in the stability of their political demands to be fully realized ".

In a statement yesterday, the Movement for a Society of Peace said that what governs the commission and its credibility is "its role in the elections, and the integrity of the elections is linked primarily to the supreme will of the ruling political system."

Street echo
As part of the reactions of citizens in the Algerian street and on social media platforms, said Abu Firas (working as a teacher) "The solution to get out of the crisis is to go strongly to vote and vote for those who deem appropriate to lead the country, and guard the funds to prevent fraud and recycling."

The trader Ahmed decided to boycott the new elections, arguing that they will not be different from the previous ones, and the evidence - in his opinion - is the circumstances and the course of preparation.

"The face of the candidate of the Palestinian Authority is almost complete," said Marwan Lounas, a journalist on his Facebook page.

Referring to the influence of the army, journalist Fatiha Bourouina asked: "Does Ben Saleh know that the wedding, which the Algerians invited to attend as guests, will dance in it alone, accompanied by the team's gunpowder?"

Activist Fouad Ben Omar tweeted, "The black room ordered everyone to go to the elections except the people.

But activist Abdel Wahab Geagea appeared upbeat. "What is not understood doesn't leave much to be seen. We have an independent authority to supervise the elections. It remains the candidates who can mobilize voters to impose integrity and gain confidence," he wrote.

The writer Hassan Zahar said: "If you are men who have chosen your knight from now and rally around him, and support him in the ballot boxes, and raise him on your heads as president to the palace of Muradiya, there will be no force on the face of the earth in your faces if you did, not Ben Saleh, not Bedouin, not even leader Saleh ".

"If I had an audible voice, I would have asked the mobs who came out in motion to reclaim the word of the people to participate strongly in the elections, and rally around a personality and a team of advisers with him, with impartial and competent assistants to protect their voices, and then the army will be in front of His historical responsibility.
