Denmark announces to have collected 2 million 400 000 euros in a first telethon for the climate. The money collected will be used to plant trees from the end of October.

Two million 700 000 euros, this is the goal that the Danes have set for this first global telethon for the climate. The goal is almost reached. The 2 million 400,000 euros in donations will plant 1 million trees in the kingdom. And 20% of the donations must be devoted to the conservation of existing forests in Denmark and abroad. Admittedly, it's not much in the world, but in this country of 5 million people, it counts a lot!

For every donation of 20 crowns (2.7 euros), a tree will be planted. A large majority of Dabois, 83%, consider climate change a very serious problem. And to fight against this danger nothing better than to plant trees, hammer the researchers. Trees, and vegetation in general, absorb the carbon dioxide that causes the greenhouse effect, and release oxygen that is breathed. Reforesting our planet massively should help it to renew its resources.

First environmental charity issue

This is the first time that a charity issue, usually devoted to diseases and research, focuses on climate issues. " It's a positive way to inspire people, showing how to make a difference with a simple gesture to fight the climate crisis, " Kim Nielsen, director of the Growing Trees Network Foundation, told AFP. to the project.

The first plantings should be carried out between the end of October and the end of November on areas belonging to voluntary municipalities, the State or the Church of Denmark.
