The National Election Commission (NEC) has announced the closure of the FNC 2019 elections, which falls today (Sunday, September 15, 2019), according to the election schedule announced by the commission in early July.

The Committee clarified that 20 candidates were withdrawn, as follows:

- Abu Dhabi Emirate, 10 candidates were withdrawn: Awad Rashid Saeed Al Muhairi, Mohammed Saeed Mohammed Qashim Al Rumaithi, Nasser Salem Saif Lakhrabani Al Nuaimi, Hamad Saeed Al Wity Al Mahrami, Hadif Salah Salem Omair Al Shamsi, Salem Hamad Salem Suhail Al Ameri, Abdullah Jawaan Salem Al Dhaheri and Mohammed Ayedh Muslim Menhali, Hamda Ahmed Omar al-Mahrami, and Karima Ali Kalfoot bellow.

- Dubai, the withdrawal of four candidates are: Habiba Mohammed Ali bin third, and Aisha Balkhair Abdullah Khalifa Balkhair, and Abdul Rahman Mohammed Salem Al Saleh Tunaiji, and Ghaith Abdul Khaliq Abdullah.

- Emirate of Sharjah, 5 candidates were withdrawn: Butti Khalfan Mubarak bin Sorour Al-Kutubi, Abdullah Salem Abdullah Al-Abdul, Mohammed Abdullah Saeed bin Howaiden Al-Kutubi, Rashid Mohammed Sultan Saeed Al-Kaidi, Hamid Obaid Saif Boufier Al Shamsi.

- Umm Al Quwain Emirate, the withdrawal of one candidate, Abdullah Ghanem Al Ghafli, was registered.

No withdrawal requests were registered in Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

The National Electoral Commission announced the final list of approved candidates on September 3, 2019, which included 495 candidates and candidates for membership of the Federal National Council in all emirates of the state, bringing the current number of candidates and after the registration of withdrawals to 475 candidates.

Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of State for Federal National Council Affairs and member of the National Elections Commission, said: “With today's announcement of the closure of the FNC candidates, efforts are continuing to implement a new electoral entitlement that will add to the success of the elections. We call on all candidates to make optimal use of the remainder of the campaign to develop electoral programs that are closer to the citizen and better able to meet their needs. "

He added: `` The candidates for the FNC elections 2019 are aware of the national responsibility they bear towards the voters and the national electoral entitlement as a whole, which requires everyone to place the interest of the nation and the citizen in their electoral programs above all considerations and abide by the rules of the election campaigns according to the executive instructions of the FNC elections. '' .

Lootah called for enhancing the interaction between voters and candidates by reviewing the programs of each candidate and reflecting on their contents to choose their representatives in the Federal National Council in a way that ensures the arrival of those who choose them to the Council, so that citizens become more contributing and effective in enhancing the role of the Federal National Council to be the most capable authority to transfer Citizens issues and respond to their aspirations and desires.

The campaign started on Sunday, September 8, 2019, and will run for 27 days until October 4, 2019, according to the schedule of the FNC 2019 elections.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs and as the Secretariat of the National Electoral Commission is working with the Electoral Management Committee to organize all aspects of the electoral process for the fourth round of the elections of the Federal National Council 2019.
