The school has only been running since the start of the semester and inside the pastel-colored and sound-dampened premises there are plenty of collection areas and beautiful views from all directions.

And there are rules: no cell phones, no sugar and no shoes for example.

- Yes, we want to minimize the disturbance moments. Mobile phones interfere and energy drinks and other things have no good impact and if you get off shoes and outerwear it becomes a softer environment, says Mattias Liedholm, who is the principal of the 650 pupils in grades 4 to 9 who attend school.

Want to meet everyone's needs

The pedagogy is also based on the latest research.

- Yes, the research says, for example, that the body goes to sleep after sitting still for 20 minutes, so we try to avoid it. There are bike benches and balls to sit on in all classrooms for those who have difficulty sitting still. By meeting everyone's needs, it will be better for all students, says Mattias Liedholm.

And that the walls are somewhat bare also have their reasons.

- We think very carefully before putting anything on the walls, it also steals attention. And if we set up something, we only do it for a limited time.

The lunch is scheduled and the students do not go there and eat so they get absent.

Split research

The school also invests a lot on movement, both on the lesson and on the break. Outside the school there is, among other things, a parkour course and new multisport plans.

But there is also research that questions whether movement has any effect on students' school results.

- I haven't seen it, I've only seen research that shows that students get better school results if they move. They get happier anyway - and then you can do more, says Mattias Liedholm.
