• Anyone who suspects that the rent is too high can contact the landlord to find out what the actual rent is. If you rent a furnished apartment, you can make a certain contribution (the rental committee has often accepted a 10-15 per cent rent premium for a fully furnished apartment). In addition, you can incur costs for, for example, broadband, parking space and electricity.
  • Anyone who is a member of the Tenants Association for assistance. Otherwise, you can contact the rental committee directly who decides on subletting.
  • Anyone who wants to claim a back rent must do so within three months of moving out of the home. The Rent Board can decide on reduced rent and repayment of rents up to one year back in time (up to two years back in time from 1 October).
  • Anyone who has decided on a refund but still does not receive the money should contact the Crown Magistrate.
  • Please note that the rules apply to second-hand rental for rent. For those who rent a condominium in the alternative, other rules (the Private Rental Act) apply. Then the secondary rent can be higher and the person who paid too high rent cannot get the rent reimbursed after the decision of the rental committee.
