24 March 2019 Possible inconveniences in Rome due to the traffic freeze in the green belt for the last Ecological Sunday of the Municipality, which coincides with the stop at 3 central stations of line A of the metro: Barberini and Spagna, stationary since yesterday, and Repubblica , barred since last October.

As the Campidoglio informs, the Council's provision was issued to contain polluting emissions and help raise awareness of the issue of air quality and the responsible use of energy sources.

The traffic block goes from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm and then resumes at 4:30 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. Circulation will be prohibited within the confines of the ZTL "Green Band". All vehicle categories are included, including Euro 6 diesel.

Two other metro stations closed
Yesterday the Barberini station of Line A of the Rome underground was closed by Atac after the seizure ordered by the judicial authority linked to the recent breakdown on one of the escalators. Shortly afterwards the Spagna stop was also closed, which has escalators of the same type, to allow further checks. The Repubblica stop has been closed since last October, when the collapse of an escalator caused 24 people to be injured.

Pedica (Pd): traffic block, metro closed, 5-star Sunday
"Block traffic in Rome and three underground stops closed: a 5-star Sunday. With Rays, the wind has really changed, it has become a cyclone that is devastating the city". This is what Stefano Pedica from the PD states in a note. "After the closure of the Barberini and Spain stations, which together with the Republic is not known for how long they will be barred, was it really necessary to block the traffic? It could not be avoided to create further inconveniences to the Romans by moving an ecological Sunday that, to be honest, nothing can be solved on the pollution front? Dear Ray, now it's time to pack up. The Capital has already endured too much. "
