The author of this week's press cartoon is Canadian. André-Philippe Côté made himself known by the comic strip, particularly with his philosopher hero Baptiste the Tramp, or with the character of Dr. Smog, a zany and endearing psychologist.

He has long been illustrator for the magazine Safarir humor and the daily newspaper of the City of Quebec Le Soleil, where he also officiates since 1997 as cartoonist editorialist. An annual collection of his best caricatures (De tous les Côté, Ed La Presse) has been published every year since then, and three major exhibitions have been devoted to him.
