Mr. Kiyoji Ueda's willingness to run as a substitute for the Saitama constituency of the House of Councilors September 14, 0:18

Interviews with officials revealed that Kiyoji Ueda, who served as governor of Saitama Prefecture for the 16th term in the 4th term until last month, decided to stand as a non-affiliated candidate for the supplementary election of the House of Councilors Saitama constituency to be held next month.

This was revealed on the night of the 13th by the supporters of Ueda in response to a reporter's interview.

According to it, Mr. Ueda said at the supporter meeting held in Asaka City, Saitama on the 13th night, “I want to advance the reforms I made in Saitama's prefectural government. I will connect Saitama and the country. Consult with the people concerned. “We will continue to prepare for the race,” he said, stating that he was determined to stand for the next election of the House of Councilors Saitama constituency next month.

Ueda is 71 years old from Fukuoka Prefecture. After serving as a member of the House of Representatives in the former Democratic Party for three terms, from 2003 he served as governor of Saitama Prefecture for four terms and 16 years and retired due to the expiration of his term last month.

Mr. Ueda is the former governor of the House of Councilors, who was first elected by the four opposition parties such as the Constitutional Democratic Party and the National Democratic Party in the Saitama governor's election last month, which became a de facto ruling and opposition party confrontation. In the future, the response of the ruling party, such as the Liberal Democratic Party, is likely to attract attention.

The substitute election of the House of Councilors Saitama constituency will be announced on the 10th of next month and will be voted on the 27th.
