The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) unveiled the path of future leaderships as part of the plan to develop the Sanad Program to support the employment of new graduates and help them overcome the obstacle of “Certificate of Experience” by giving them a chance to work in the colleges for a specific period and obtain a certificate of expertise to support their utilization of various employment opportunities. In addition, the program has trained 224 graduates so far, 55 of whom have been recruited within the administrative structure of the colleges.

Dr. Abdul Latif Al Shamsi, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex, told Emirates Today that Sanad is a program that supports Emiratisation by enabling new graduates to obtain temporary employment contracts at the colleges for three to six months, during which they will experience the realities of each job. Its requirements, obligations and challenges are the same as any ordinary employee, and then at the end of the period they receive a certificate of experience, which opens to them employment opportunities, giving them priority for employment in colleges.

He added: “With the success of the program, the faculties went to announce a development plan for the program entitled (Future Leadership Path), which contributes to the preparation of graduates and enable them to be qualified to take over the system of this educational institution, with their young and enthusiastic ideas and creativity by enabling the employees of Sanad who work with fixed contracts to interact. "With strategic activities and initiatives, bringing them closer to college decision-makers to learn about strategic insights and decision-making mechanisms to gain knowledge and leadership experience."

He explained that the office of Sanad was established within the Human Resources Department at the colleges to follow up the affairs related to the program starting from joining it, interviews and introductory workshops, and appointing temporary contracts for a period, up to getting the associates after their commitment to the specified period of work to obtain a certificate of experience through which they can find job opportunities. In addition, priority is given to them to appoint to colleges on fixed contracts after proving their competence during the specified work period.

He pointed out that the new academic year witnessed the implementation of the basic pillars of the fourth generation plan, including a new strategy for student enrollment that emphasizes the three-tier skills, entrepreneurship and lifelong learning, pointing out that the fourth generation plan is concerned with empowering young people with professional skills and supporting them to be entrepreneurs. It is based on three pillars related to graduating companies and entrepreneurs, graduating professional leaders in their disciplines, and promoting continuing education.

According to the Human Resources Department at the colleges, the Sanad program has witnessed a remarkable development since its launch during the last academic year and has been very popular with the expansion of the circle of introductions among graduates and graduates, and attracted 224 graduates, 55 of whom were appointed with fixed employment contracts in various faculties. Twenty program members are still on temporary contracts.

She pointed out that the program «Sanad» enables enrollment to understand the real working environment and live in all its aspects, starting from the application for the job and provide a resume, and the work of the interview, and after ensuring the efficiency and seriousness of the candidates, are signed contracts with them, the duration of three to six months.

Training in the private sector

The Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex, Dr. Abdul Latif Al Shamsi, revealed that the faculties are going to achieve 100% training for their students in the private sector, which encourages them to work in this sector and benefit from its advantages and experience in establishing their own projects. National competencies in this sector, which is a strategic partner in national development.

He pointed out that the Higher Colleges of Technology have enhanced the employment opportunities of graduates in the public and private sectors, where colleges during the spring and summer of last academic year enabled 50% of the students, 2415 students, to obtain opportunities for practical field training in the private sector.

He added that the fourth-generation plan aims to enable graduates to create their career opportunities in the post-employment phase.
