The daughter of King Salman of Saudi Arabia and sister of the Crown Prince was sentenced on Thursday, September 12, to ten months in prison suspended after a trial for violence committed by one of his bodyguards, in 2016, in the beautiful districts of Paris.

Acknowledged accomplice by the criminal court, Hassa bint Salman is also fined 10,000 euros. His lawyer immediately announced his intention to appeal this judgment. Under the terms of an international arrest warrant, she was absent during the deliberations as at the hearing, which took place in July.

A heavier sentence than required

The sentence imposed on the sister of the strongman of Riyadh is heavier than that required by the prosecution. In July, the prosecutor had asked for six months suspended and a fine of 5,000 euros against her, considering the King of Saudi Arabia's daughter as "the de facto authority in this apartment of 81 avenue Foch this 26 September 2016" where the facts unfolded.

The "close protection officer" and a man of confidence, Rani Saïdi, the only one present at the hearing, was sentenced to eight months' suspension and a fine of 5,000 euros, in accordance with the prosecutor's requisitions.

On 26 September 2016, Ashraf Eid, a building contractor, was on the 7th floor of a residence of the Saudi Royal Family Avenue Foch. He repainted tables when he was called "emergency" on the 5th floor, to repair a damaged basin.

The craftsman explained to the investigators that he took pictures of the bathroom with his mobile phone where he had to intervene: the princess had appeared in the room, realizing that the plumber had been able to "catch his reflection in the mirror" and called his security officer.

At the helm, the personal assistant acting as bodyguard, leader of Attila Security, had strongly denied any violence, despite traces on the wrists and bruises on the complainant's face, which had been seen prescribe an ITT (total incapacity for work) of five days.
