As indicated on the agency’s website, Zhukov is included in the list of organizations and persons with respect to whom “there is information about their involvement in extremist activities or terrorism”.

Egor Zhukov was arrested "in the July 27 case." Later, investigators found him not involved in the riots in the capital, after which they stopped the criminal prosecution, and the court transferred the student to house arrest.

At the same time, the UK said that it had established another episode of Zhukov’s criminal activity, he was charged with a crime under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of Russia.

The investigation believes that in 2017 Zhukov published videos on YouTube that called for extremist activities.

In early August 2018, a court sentenced Kurgan resident Evgeny Lesovoy to two years in a penal colony for appealing for riots and extremist activities using Telegram.
