The Paris SG, like Lyon on Wednesday, has already secured its ticket to the 8th finals of the Champions League women's football by going to crush Braga 7-0, Thursday, thanks to a hat-trick of Marie-Antoinette Katoto.
The Parisiennes, quarter-finalists last season, opened the scoring with the inevitable Katoto who converted a whistled penalty kick in the seventh minute after a foul on Kadidiatou Diani. Katoto doubled the bet after half an hour of play in a one-sided match before scoring a hat-trick just before being replaced in the second half. Before half-time, the Brazilian Formiga, 41, had gone from goal to sending her friends to the locker room with a three-goal advantage.
As soon as the second half came back, Diani killed the semblance of suspense by adding a fourth goal in the Parisian pocketbook. After the Katoto show, Jordyn Huitema, 18, took advantage of the extra time to take the final score to 7-0 by scoring two goals in one minute (90 + 3, 90 + 4).
The return match, in two weeks, should be a formality for Parisian women.
