The special plane carrying the body of Robert Mugabe landed this Wednesday, September 11 in the afternoon at Harare airport. The "hero" of the independence of the former British colony became tyrant died last Friday, September 6, at the age of 95 years in a luxury hospital in Singapore, where he had come for treatment since years.

The plane landed at about 15:30 at Harare airport. It was the soldiers who pulled out Robert Mugabe's coffin, covered with the Zimbabwean flag. He was then transported to a tribune. His widow Grace Mugabe and Emmerson Mnangagwa were present. The current head of state took the floor to pay tribute to him.

On site, there were a hundred militants from Zanu-PF. The body was taken to his home in northern Harare, where a wake must be held tonight. The people around the residence are mostly relatives of the Mugabe family and neighbors.

The remains of the former president of Zimbabwe are due to be displayed on Thursday, 12 September, at the Rufaro stadium, a suburb of Harare, for the general public. Then Robert Mugabe's body will be transported to the village of Zvimba. He will then return to Harare for a national funeral this Saturday.

We still do not know where Robert Mugabe will be buried. It is indeed a sensitive and controversial subject between the family and the government. The latter wants him to be buried in a cemetery reserved for the heroes of the Zimbabwe War of Independence.
