Successful debut: Paris Saint-Germain kicked off their season at home by beating Nantes 32-29 on Wednesday for Day 2 of Starligue, while Nimes won against Montpellier in the South derby.

Before opening its European page of the 2019-2020 season on Saturday night in Zagreb, PSG had to get rid of one of its direct competitors in its quest for a sixth consecutive French championship title. This is done, especially thanks to an imperial Mikkel Hansen, again (9 goals).

PSG, who has not experienced the defeat in his lair of Coubertin since June 2017 (against ... the HBC Nantes), was however disturbed by the HBC Wednesday night.

Because at the break, the score was still contained (18-16), thanks in particular to the solutions offered by the pivot Nantes Senjamin Buric, often found (4 goals at the break).

But the indiscipline of the HBC has cost him dearly: the exclusions for two minutes inflicted in the first half to Minne, Rivera and Cavalcanti (which will be released on red card shortly after the return of the locker room) have put in trouble the defense of Nantes, exceeded by the power of the Parisian pivots and the accuracy of their master to play, Hansen (already 7 goals at the break).

Parisians are gradually taking the lead, carried by the aggressiveness - sometimes overflowing, in the image of his exclusion - Gudjon Sigurdsson, author of six goals.

After his 500th goal in the league (31st), another achievement of the untenable Luka Karabatic will allow Parisians to count up to five goals in advance (50th), and eventually win quietly.

The other poster of the evening, the boiling derby languedocien between Nîmes and Montpellier Parnasse, was revealed more tense than expected.

Michaël Guigou (4 goals), who left the Hérault for Gard this summer, and especially the goalkeeper Rémi Desbonnet, author of 19 saves to 53%, allowed Nîmes, though not favorite, to win on the wire. against one of the contenders for the title, 25-24.

In the other meetings, Tremblay made only a mouthful of Toulouse (31-22), while Istres and Dunkerque both imposed by four goals of difference, respectively in Saint-Raphaël (33-29) and at home against Ivry (26-22). Chartres dominated Creteil, but narrowly (27-26).

PSG, undefeated after two days, shares the first place in the ranking with Nîmes, twice winner too, before the meeting between Chambéry and Aix-en-Provence Thursday evening (20:45), closing the second day.
