In Kenya, a 14-year-old girl committed suicide after being humiliated at school in a remote area in the west of the country. The girl had had her period and stained her uniform. Insulted, treated as "dirty" by her teacher in front of her classmates, she killed herself on her way home.

Her name was Jackline. She was a staunch student at a school in Bomet County. Last Friday, September 6th, the 14-year-old discovers her bloodstained uniform while she is in class. His first rules . His teacher, a woman , notices him and humbles him in front of his classmates before driving her away.

Jackline goes back home, tells the incident to her mother and then goes to get water from the river. She will be found hanging from a tree a few hours later. Since then, Jackline's parents have been denouncing the inaction of the local police. In support, dozens of other parents showed their anger around the school. The offending teacher has never been questioned.

Sanitary Napkin Distributions Encouraged Since 2017
