Iranian ambassador: tanker Adrian Darya 1 did not violate the country's obligations

Iran’s ambassador to the UK, Hamid Baedinejad, said tanker Adrian Darya 1 sold oil to a private company and did not violate Tehran’s obligations.

"Despite the large number of threats from the United States, the tanker sold oil to a private company on the high seas and did not violate a single obligation," FARS news agency reported.

In August, the U.S. Treasury Department listed the Iranian tanker Adrian Darya 1 on the sanctions list.

On July 4, Royal Marines of Great Britain detained Grace 1 (formerly called tanker. - RT ) off the coast of Gibraltar due to the fact that the vessel allegedly delivered oil to Syria.

An Iranian tanker held for more than a month was only able to leave Gibraltar on August 19.
