In February 2018, a 29-year-old resident of Volgograd, Alexander Darensky, was detained by law enforcement officers at the post office, where he received a parcel from Belarus with drugs for gaining muscle mass. The man was charged with smuggling potent drugs banned from circulation on the territory of the Russian Federation. In August 2019, he was sentenced to three years in prison. In Russian court practice, 471 people were convicted under a similar article in 2018, but only 67 of them ended up in prison. The Darensky family is trying to appeal the sentence.
