"The contagion scares them": after six months of emergency strike, a few hundred people demonstrated in Paris at the call of the CGT, which hopes to extend the movement to the entire health and social sector, but has not joined by the other unions for the time being.

After the plan of "refoundation" emergencies unveiled Monday by Agnès Buzyn, this "national day of action" was "to demonstrate that hospital staff are not satisfied with these announcements," told AFP Mireille Stivala, Secretary General of the CGT-Health.

Behind a banner saying "It is urgent to act for the public service of health and social action," the protesters left the place of Italy shortly after 14H00 in the direction of the Ministry of Health.

Wages, staff, additional beds in hospitals and nursing homes ... Beyond the usual demands, "we are also here for our patients, who are greeted indecently, placed on stretchers in corridors," says Nathalie Pinheiro , emergency care aide in Vichy (Allier).

A situation far from isolated, as these services are saturated: their attendance has doubled in twenty years, reaching 21.4 million in 2017.

The ground was favorable to a strike, unpublished by its duration - soon 6 months - and its scale, with 250 establishments identified so far by the collective Inter-Emergency which is at the origin.

The Minister of Health hoped to "solve the problem" with his plan presented Monday and endowed with "more than 750 million euros" drawn from credits planned by 2022.

An envelope especially intended for the creation of a new "service of access to care" to regulate calls for help and "direct admissions" channels without passage to emergencies for the elderly.

But these measures did not convince the strikers, who voted Tuesday the continuation of their movement and supported "all the union dates announced".

The collective was however not visible alongside the CGT Wednesday, as well as Force Ouvrière, who had yet called the day to "join" in this mobilization.

"We will expand the movement," says Stivala, already turned to the next date of the CGT, September 24 against the pension reform.

Inter-emergency strikers are planning "local rallies" on September 26, pending a "national mobilization date".

A rapprochement is also envisaged with the firefighters, who will organize their own national event on October 15th. "The claims are the same," says Peter Gurruchaga, CGT firefighters, present in the procession and "open to a common movement with hospitable".

The member France insubordinate Caroline Fiat, former caregiver, also came in white coat and girdled with a tricolor scarf to support "a beautiful fight".

"We have every interest in continuing the fight, the mayonnaise takes, we shaken them. This contagion scares them," wants to believe Mohamed Farid, emergency nurse Gonesse.

However, the government does not plan "at this stage of additional measures," said his spokesman Sibeth Ndiaye after the Council of Ministers.

The plan presented by Ms. Buzyn "is a response that is largely up to the needs" and "that fits in the short and long time," she added.
