Tuesday's rainy weather did not just hit the roads, train traffic and shops. Many households in the area have been flooded in, for example, basements, storage rooms and garages.

- When I got home at ten, there was water all the way up at the carport. Couldn't walk or drive there. I hope there is not too much damage to the house. You might laugh at it when you see the cars driving there, but it is not very fun. It doesn't get any better when they do nothing. I hope the municipality looks at this and finds that we are worried, we who live here, says Christel Hammarlund.

What do you think the municipality should do?

- They should clear in the rivers to begin with. Widen them, start in Mölndal and go all the way. Also located very close to my house it is in just a few meters. Yesterday there was no lawn here, there was water all the way. So it was not a beautiful sight, says Christel Hammarlund.

Five years into a long-term solution

Göran Werner, technical manager in the city of Mölndal says that they will look at a more long-term solution on how to solve flooding in the future.

- First, I think it is very boring, and I understand that she thinks it is difficult. We clean the creek every year now and it is clear that after this we will have to look a little extra what we can do. I also think it has been too often that is why we have started this work and see how we will solve it in the long term.

- We have put money into the city's budget, but I think this is a project that will take five years to get a more long-term solution, says Göran Werner, Technical Manager, Mölndal City.
