It was at 7.30 in the morning of May 14 that a woman of her 60s was severely cut in central Helsingborg while on her way to work.

An act that has also attracted international attention because the woman has a Jewish background and the police initially did not rule out that it could be a motive for the act.

Ten chops in the trunk

Prosecutor Linda Seger is now prosecuting the man for attempted murder. According to the prosecutor, he tried to kill the victim by stabbing her in the trunk about ten times.

The woman suffered extensive injuries, including in the lung sac and in an artery in her armpit. Just by chance, the woman did not die at the deed, according to the prosecutor. Nothing about the man's motive behind the attack is mentioned in the prosecution.

The man was arrested in Copenhagen the night after the attack. He is known by the police for violent behavior and has on several occasions been sentenced to open psychiatric compulsive care.

The 60-year-old woman who was cut down, according to the information obtained, should not have known the man before.
