The Alliance in Skellefteå, which consists of the Moderates, the Center Party, the Liberals and the Christian Democrats, presented its draft budget for 2020 on Tuesday. The focus of the budget is on the school and the elderly.

- We allocate a total of SEK 36.5 million in addition to the majority's proposal, which we do to strengthen education in Skellefteå, from preschool to adult education, says Christina Soldan, group leader for the Liberals.

The Alliance also wants to invest in a new care and care home until 2022.

- We find that the municipality is facing a tough financial situation and then the political priorities become extra important. In our draft budget, we have made clear priorities to the core of welfare. Through competitive outsourcing, downgrading of various projects, savings within the grant system, we release an additional SEK 70 million that we primarily invest in the school and the elderly, says Andreas Löwenhöök (M), opposition council in Skellefteå municipality.

Among other things, the money should be taken by saving for example projects, culture and leisure activities for adults, free bus trips and analogue communication such as newspapers. It also proposes a rationalization of the political organization.
