The three French women entered Tuesday in the first round of the tournament WTA Premier Zhengzhou, Kristina Mladenovic (49th), Alize Cornet (59th) and Fiona Ferro (61st) all easily qualified for the next round at the expense of three Chinese modest level.
Mladenovic pulled off without shaking Yingying Duan (323rd), 6-2, 6-3, and will find for a place in the quarterfinals his partner FedCup Caroline Garcia (31), qualified the day before.
Cornet has barely suffered to get rid of another Chinese, Jiajing Lu (185), beaten 7-6 (7/1), 6-1, as Fiona Ferro who outclassed Zhaoxuan Yang (638), 6- 2, 6-3.
The first will face the next round to a more upstanding opposition with the American Sofia Kenin (20th), Chloe Paquet's entry-winner, as well as the young Ferro (22), who will be the test of the Croatian Petra Martic (23rd).
