10 September 2019 North Korea launched two unidentified projectiles into the sea, according to reports from South Korean military sources, a few hours after declaring its willingness to resume diplomatic talks on the nuclear issue with the United States at the end of September. South Korean military authorities said in a statement that North Korean bullets fired from southern Phyongan province, which surrounds Pyongyang, flew over the country before landing at sea, off its east coast.

South Korea - they added - will monitor any other launches. Yesterday the first deputy foreign minister of North Korea, Choe Son Hui, expressed his willingness to resume dialogue with the United States and a meeting in late September, on the condition that Washington arrive at the negotiating table with new proposals.
