International tourist flow grew by 4% in the first half of 2019

671 million international tourist arrivals were recorded.

“In past years, the sector showed a dynamics of 6%,” the report said.

Active growth is still shown by the countries of the Middle East (+ 8%) and the Asia-Pacific region (+ 6%). In Europe, the figure was + 4%, in Africa - + 3%.

A session of the UNWTO General Assembly takes place on September 9–13 in St. Petersburg.

Russia is hosting such an event for the first time. Participants represent about 130 countries.

Earlier, the Moscow 24 website reported that for the first time a special visiting program of the General Assembly of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) will be held in the capital. Events are scheduled for September 14 and 15.
