Adaptations for the climate

Löfven promises that new pedestrian lanes for high-speed trains will be built. And that the decided national plan for infrastructure with investments of 700 million is to be followed.

- Our country will be the world's first fossil-free welfare country. It will affect every part of society and permeate politics, says Stefan Löfven in his government statement.

Rents with reasonable rents

Investment support should be directed to student housing and rental apartments with reasonable rents throughout the country, according to the Prime Minister.

- The government intends to bring together all players in the housing market about the common interest in securing a continued high rate of construction.

Fight cross-border crime

The police should have better opportunities to work in border areas to combat cross-border crime.

- The possibility of camera surveillance with automatic recognition of vehicle types and registration plates should be considered.

More for senior citizens

- Now the strengthening of the pensioners' economy continues. Next year, the guarantee pension and the ceiling for the housing supplement for pensioners will be increased. The phasing out of the unjust retirement pension continues, says Löfven.

Action against serious crime

Löfven states that the fight against serious crime is long-term and will include both successes and setbacks.

- The ruthlessness shown to the victims is abominable. The goal is clear. We must force back the violence.

Improvements for the countryside

Löfven mentions the tax cut that 850,000 people in Norrland and northwestern Svealand will receive next year as compensation, for example for long distances. Service offices will also be opened in several locations.

- Whether you live in Vellinge or Vilhelmina, you should have the same right to home care - the distances in the municipality should not be decided, says Löfven.

World-class healthcare

- Sweden should have world-class healthcare and it should be there for everyone. Therefore, the government is taking steps to ensure a safer, more accessible and equal healthcare.

More educational places

- The knowledge lift is set to continue and is expected to include 93,000 government-funded training places throughout the country during 2020.
