China protests Germany after meeting Mehs with Hong Kong activist

“The Chinese side expressed strong discontent and decisive protest to the FRG,” RIA Novosti quotes Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying as saying.

The Chinese side emphasized that the Hong Kong events are an internal affair of China, and that external players have no right to intervene in them.

Also in China, they called on Germany not to send false signals to the radicals in Hong Kong.

On his Twitter page, Joshua Wong commented on his meeting with Maas, noting that he had discussed with the Minister the situation with the protests in Hong Kong.

Previously, anti-government protesters in Hong Kong gathered around the US Consulate General with American flags and called on US President Donald Trump to “protect them.”
