Despite the demands of the party, Emma Carlsson Löfdahl chose to retain her parliamentary seat. During her time out, she has pledged SEK 400,000 in fees - without working. To Aftonbladet she says:

- I'm here today and working.

Suspected fraud

Former Liberal Emma Carlsson Löfdahl took a timeout on March 8 after revealing that she was renting her husband's apartment for SEK 13,000 a month. In this way, she was able to deduct the maximum amount of SEK 8,600 from the Riksdag for housing.

In late March, a preliminary investigation into suspected fraud was initiated as a result of the disclosure. She has previously announced that she is awaiting the prosecutor's investigation before deciding whether to leave Parliament.

Decision in the autumn

By remaining in the Riksdag throughout the term of office, Löfdahl Carlsson has secured her income up to the 65th anniversary, since she has the time to turn 50 years. If she leaves early, she is entitled to a five-year income guarantee instead.

Prosecutor Bengt Åsbäck, who leads the investigation of suspected fraud, writes in an e-mail to Aftonbladet that he is aiming for a decision during the fall.
