The man was on his way home from one of the hospitals in Kronoberg County by taxi from service trips. He found it difficult to breathe during the trip because the battery for the oxygen machine was discharged. The taxi driver called for help and the man spiked. But upon returning home, the man received cardiac arrest and died.

The Kronoberg Region now reports the incident to the Inspection for Care and Care. New procedures have been introduced since the incident and now care personnel who accompany the patient to the taxi must always ensure that the oxygen machine is plugged into the car's cigarette outlet.

This was the first Småland post to tell.
