Liberal Party leader Nyamko Sabuni and party political spokesman Johan Pehrson told a press conference on Monday that law enforcement agencies will receive SEK 700 million next year.

Henrik Vinge, the Swedish Democrat's deputy group leader in the Riksdag, does not believe that the money will be enough for neither preventive measures against recruitment to crime nor the efforts SD wants to make in order for the police to deal with gang crime.

- It is welcome that the government is investing in the judicial system, but unfortunately it is far too little. We would have to invest significantly more than the Liberals suggest, he says.

SD comes with its own proposal

At the press conference, Sabuni and Pehrson told that as of 2022, the contribution is expected to amount to SEK 1.4 billion annually. According to the Liberals, this is a consequence of the party's demands in the budget negotiations with the government.

Vinge does not want to give exact figures on how much money he thinks is being made, but says it is twice as much as what the Liberals presented today. He says that SD's figures will be reported in the budget proposal the party itself will submit shortly.
