Six months after the beginning of the crisis in the emergency departments of hospitals in France, the Minister of Health has announced that a budget of 750 million euros will be released.

It sounds like obvious. Seven hundred and fifty million euros allocated to emergencies is better than the figure of 600 that has been circulating for a few days. But for professional organizations , still need to know where they come from. It can only be a credit transfer. But at the public hospital, no service is rich enough to dress decently his neighbor, summarizes Christophe Prudhomme, president of the association of emergency doctors in France.

" When you are in a phase of reorganization, if you do not put the means to be able to impel these reorganizations, it can not work, explains the doctor. Today, the urgency is immediately, it is not in one year, two years, three years because all the reorganization measures will take time before implementing .

Several tracks explored

The Minister of Health launched several tracks this Monday, September 9th. The first to relieve emergencies when 43% of patients have nothing to do, but present themselves for lack of quick access to a general practitioner. By the summer of 2020, Agnès Buzyn will be offering a 24-hour consultation service to guide the patient to the most suitable professional. Little detail has been provided on this measure, liberal and hospitable have two months to write the specifications.

The first measure, and I think it is a great expectation of the French, is a universal service, a public service of guidance and advice. I called it the Sas: Access to Care Service.

The second avenue is to offer the Liberal sector the same benefits as emergencies. No advance fees or free access to an ambulance to go to his doctor.

The last part is about the elderly. The goal is to reach emergency zero by five years and that these patients can be referred to appropriate care services right away.

The collective emergency not convinced

But the minister failed to convince professional organizations. " We, what we note in all cases, it is no progress in the framework of our claims that one bears since the beginning of the movement. There is nothing in terms of salary enhancement, nothing in terms of increasing the number of paramedics in the services and just a few ads on perhaps a reopening of downstream beds ", deplores Oriane Plumet, vice-president president of the inter-emergency collective that initiated the strike movement.
