The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the Al Ferry Maritime Transport Line between Dubai and Sharjah has transported 47,843 passengers since its inauguration on July 27 this year.

The line connects Al Ghubaiba stations in Dubai and Sharjah Aquarium. This is the first maritime transport service between Dubai and the other emirates.

Mohammed Abu Baker Al Hashimi, Director of Maritime Transport Department at the Public Transport Agency, said that the launch of this vital service comes within the framework of a comprehensive plan developed by the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai to develop the maritime transport system, and delight the passengers between the two emirates daily through the addition of a smooth and safe transportation And have fun.

Tickets are AED 15 (one way) in Silver Class and AED 25 in Gold Class, while fare is free for people with disabilities and children under 5 years of age. Free Wi-Fi is available for passengers.

The journey time between Al Ghubaiba stations in Dubai and Sharjah Aquarium is estimated to be 35 minutes, and the time of trips runs every 30 minutes during the morning rush hours (5 am to 9 am) and evening (4 pm to 8:30 pm). Saturday to Thursday, while the trek is every hour and a half in normal times, pointing out that the first flight departs from Dubai at 5:15 am, the last flight at 8:00 pm, while the first flight departs from Sharjah at 5:00 am and last 7:30 pm.

The launch of this service comes within the framework of cooperation between the emirates of Dubai and Sharjah by increasing the options of movement between them and relieve traffic pressure on the hubs of roads, and the use of fast and safe maritime transport in the presence of a geographical stretch of beach. The number of ferry trips between Al Ghubaiba Maritime Transport Station in Dubai and Sharjah Aquarium is 42, with a daily rate of 21 trips in each direction. Free commuter car parking is available with an internal bus service at Sharjah Aquarium Station.
