Yemeni security forces on Sunday attacked the home of southern resistance leader Mohammed al-Bukri in the southern city of Aden, demonstrators cut off main roads in the southeastern city of Mukalla to protest against the deterioration of services, Yemeni sources said.

According to sources in the southern resistance communicated with Al Jazeera Net over the phone, the security belt forces opened fire on the guard of the house of the resistance leader, causing injury to some of the guard and other civilians who were next to the house, including children.

The sources said that panic hit residents in the neighborhood of Dar Saad as a result of clashes that erupted after the attack, which ended with the transfer of Albukri to an area away from the house.

In the southern province of Abyan also, military sources of the island confirmed the death of a soldier of the security belt troops shot dead in Al-Wadaye district, amid security tension in the city and fears of continued security imbalances in the province.

The tribal elders in the province on Saturday announced the general support for the legitimate government, condemning the bombing of the national army soldiers by the Emirates during the past days on the outskirts of Aden.

This comes at a time when the Yemeni government confirmed that the UAE is the first responsible for what is happening in Yemen, according to new statements by Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hadrami, to stand before the deviation of Abu Dhabi and its role is the only gateway to resolve the crisis in the south of the country.

Al-Hadrami reiterated that the legitimate government will not engage in any dialogue that does not address in advance the deviation of Abu Dhabi's role from the UAE-Saudi alliance.

Absent services
In another development in the field, hundreds of Yemeni citizens went out today in angry demonstrations in the city of Mukalla, burning tires, erecting roadblocks in the main street and raising slogans calling on the authorities to provide water and electricity services and end their suffering.

In turn, the governor of Hadramaut Faraj al-Bahsani stressed the work to stabilize the electricity service gradually through the purchase of a diesel ship, and make more efforts to find solutions to improve public services and provide fuel for power plants.

In Aden and Abyan governorates, residents have appealed to the legitimate government over the past two days for urgent intervention to save them from power cuts that increase their suffering in the summer heat.

The depletion of diesel and diesel has doubled the power outages in the southern provinces, especially in areas outside the jurisdiction of the legitimate government, and the UAE-backed transitional council appears unable to provide such services.
