Pizza owner: "The fire is a disaster"

On Saturday, Ahmad Al-Hakim was together with employees to clean and tidy up the restaurant and when he left the premises everything seemed normal.

"The clock was maybe at 19 when I left and a few hours later he called the owner of the workshop next to my business and said it was burning too full," says Ahmad Al-Hakim.

The alarm about the fire came in just before 8.30 pm on Saturday night and when Ahmad Al-Hakim went back to his pizzeria and shop everything was in flames.

- Nothing could be saved. I have invested millions in the business. Thankfully I am fully insured.

The fire should have started in the pizzeria, but the cause of the fire is unclear and should be investigated. However, the police have routinely initiated a preliminary investigation with the heading of dangerous destruction.

- The investigation is allowed to show what is the cause of the fire, but I can tell you that several days ago I was already aware that a mobile exploded while charging in the business premises I rent. I thought there might be congestion on the electricity grid and I contacted the property owner about this, but have not yet received an answer, says Ahmad Al-Hakim.
