Palestinian prisoner Bassam Sayeh (46 years), who was imprisoned by the occupation for nearly five years, died on Sunday afternoon, and was called by the national and Islamic factions and national institutions, blaming Israel for his death after his health deteriorated.

Convictions and anger
The Palestinian Prisoner Club accused the Israeli occupation authorities of killing Sayeh Al-Sayeh because of medical negligence and delay in providing medical treatment.He said in a statement that Bassam's health situation has worsened significantly as a result of the harsh conditions of detention and interrogation he has been subjected to since 2015. The Palestinian Prisoners and Editors Authority also held the Israeli authorities fully responsible for Al-Sayeh's martyrdom, and called in a statement for "investigations into cases of legal violations against prisoners and imposing international law on the occupation entity."

Meanwhile, the Fatah movement and the National Action factions in Nablus called for organizing a protest event on Monday in downtown Nablus to condemn Sayeh's martyrdom.

There were clashes between Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers at the checkpoint of Shu'fat refugee camp in Jerusalem.

There was a state of anger among the prisoners in a number of Israeli prisons, and their throats shouted and chanted for the martyr Sayeh amid calls for escalation, and called the captive movement inside the prisoners to declare three days of mourning for the spirit of Sayeh and close all prison sections and return meals tomorrow.
