The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) was surprised to receive a reward for the $ 400,000 African Nations Cup victory for Desert Warriors.

According to FootAfrica, the Algerian Football Federation (AUF) account received on August 28 a transfer of $ 4.1 million from the African Football Confederation (CAF), instead of the $ 4.5 million, which represents the value of the reward allocated to the African Nations Cup.

The website pointed out that the Algerian Union officials did not receive any justification for the amount deducted, which prompted them to correspondence of the African Union for inquiries.

Algerians have received a response from AU offices in Cairo, promising to look into the case and provide full details as soon as possible.

Media sources said that the deducted amount would be allocated to cover the costs of 30,000 tickets granted by the Algerian federation free of charge to the Algerian fans during the tournament held in Egypt last summer, and was unable to pay their costs at the time due to lack of sufficient liquidity.
