Venice International Film Festival Director Koreda won't win September 8, 3:45

An award-winning film was announced at the Venice International Film Festival in Italy, one of the world's three largest film festivals, and the top prize, the Golden Lion, was awarded to Joker, directed by Todd Phillips in the United States. The director did not receive the “truth” award from Hirokazu Kore-eda.

“Truth” was first screened as a Japanese director on the first day of the film festival and received high acclaim. Although it was expected to be a success following the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival last year, it did not win.
