The investigation done after the school closed shows that a new school is preferable to trying to renovate the damp-damaged school. In addition, the new school will be larger than the previous one.
- I will make proposals to build a new larger Åkraskola, says Anders Wigelsbo (C), the chairman of the local council.
When the Åkraskolan closed, the municipality chose to build a new module school and evacuate the business there. However, Gärdesta module school is set up with a temporary building permit and must be dismantled by 2022.
- The plan is that we start building the new school in two years, says Anders Wigelsbo.
The proposal is raised when the municipal council meets on September 12. The total cost of the new school is estimated at just over SEK 254 million.
