This time, Södertälje Municipality is collaborating with Torekällberget's open-air museum to try to give a picture of what it might have looked like 200 years ago when the Södertälje canal was built.

The canal was opened by the French-Swedish king Karl the fourteenth Johan in 1819. But a soldier from Sörmland's company who, according to the rolls, was already in 1808 and helped with the excavation was Anders Wahl (played by Hans Qviström). He tells here in the clip to SVT about the tribulations in the past.

In addition, Hanna Gelotte, an expert from the Cultural History Association, and a bunch of carpenters and kringel ladies are on hand to illustrate the whole thing.
