07 September 2019Moody's rating agency has postponed its judgment on Italy. Moody's has announced in a note that it has updated its calendar and therefore will not communicate any decision for Italy. Moody's rating should have reached around 24 hours after the oath of the new Conte government and at a time when the political climate seems to have cleared up. The verdict was initially scheduled for September 6th.

The current judgment on Italy by Moody's, the most severe of the rating agencies, is at Baa3, the last investment grade segment, with a stable outlook. On August 29, Moody's pointed out that the new PD-M5s coalition government would "probably reduce tensions with the European Union".
