During the week, police received several calls regarding two horses found dead in a horse pasture in Heby municipality. And after investigations at the site, the incident has been classified as suspected animal cruelty.

"It is a bargain we have made on the site and what it looks like there is crucial," says Daniel Wikdahl, press officer at the police.

Several hearings were held in the case, including with the owners of the horses. However, it is unclear in which direction the suspicions are directed.

- The owner has provided information and given his version of the case, but if that person is the suspect I cannot comment on until after the horses have been autopsy and the cause of death has been determined.

The horses should be autopsied

During Friday the horses are transported under police control to SVA in Uppsala.

"It is only after the autopsy that we can determine whether it is about suspected animal cruelty or whether the horses have died for some other reason," says Jonas Eronen, spokesperson for the Uppsala police.

The County Administrative Board told SVT News Uppsala earlier this week that the horse owner had an animal prohibition because the person neglected his farm and the animals there.
