This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

“At the request of the investigator, the skipper was selected a preventive measure in the form of detention,” the department said.

On September 5, the Kamelot pleasure boat sank in a severe storm near Cape Meganom off the coast of Crimea. One person died as a result of the incident, and 12 were saved.

Upon the incident, the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Crimea opened a criminal case on violation of traffic safety rules and the operation of water transport, which resulted in the death of a person through negligence.
